We are very happy that the band “Giant Rooks” contributed three songs to our Tatort. The five guys should come from Great Britain, their indie sound sounds so powerful, but their hometown is Hamm in Westphalia. Their music is also described as an antidepressant cast in song form. In “Tatort: Ricochets” their songs not only connect Thewes’ tragic father figure (Milan Peschel) with his daughter Sara (Charlotte Lorenzen), but also trigger Commissioner Falke’s soft core.

“We, the Giant Rooks, grew up with the ‘Tatort’ on Sunday evening and are proud to be a very small part of this cultural asset! Thank you so much for thinking of us”.

A sniper shoots at a truck driver in a truck stop, the killer flees unidentified. Thorsten Falke and Julia Grosz investigate in the environment of the transport company: Is it a mentally disturbed single criminal or a dispute in the trucker milieu?

During their investigations Falke and Grosz come across a wall of silence. While they assume more and more that they are being blackmailed, the killer strikes again…

When the investigative journalist Imke Leopold (Franziska Hartmann) asks Thorsten Falke (Wotan Wilke Möhring) for help in clearing up a supposedly illegal real estate deal on the island of Norderney, he initially reacts sceptically. When Imke shortly afterwards becomes the victim of an attack, which she survives only by luck, Falke regrets his hesitation and asks Julia Grosz (Franziska Weisz) to investigate with him on the island. Does the attack have anything to do with a large-scale construction project that was waved through due to the agreement of some local politicians on the island? The lawyer and real estate agent on the island, who arranged the deal and gave Imke some hints to this effect, is unfortunately not available as an informant – Falke and Grosz find him killed in his house.

The new episode of the crime series will be directed by Lars Henning (“Between the Years”, “Tatort: Der Turm”) on Norderney, in Hamburg and the region until 9 December.

“Suddenly it was love” celebrates its premiere at the Nordische Filmtage Lübeck! We are very pleased to be invited to the Filmforum programme, where the film will be presented to the festival audience in the presence of the author and director André Erkau and his actors!

We are very happy that our “Tatort: The Golden Era” (Screenplay: Georg Lippert, Director: Mia Spengler) will celebrate its premiere at this year’s Filmfest Hamburg in the Televisonen – Fernsehen mit Format section as part of the competition!
During investigations in Hamburg Thorsten Falke (Wotan Wilke Möhring) is faced with his own past. Together with his colleague Julia Grosz (Franziska Weisz), he is investigating against the superiority of criminal gangs in St. Pauli.

In other roles: Michael Thomas, Bogdan Iancu, Christian Redl, Jonathan Kwesi Aikins, Emma Drogunova, Deborah Kaufmann, Jessica Kosmolla, Levin Liam and many more.

Directed by Andrei Schwartz, the shooting of our documentary “Europapassage” has started in Hamburg. The film investigates the life of a group of Roma who have been oscillating between Hamburg and their Romanian village for years. Since the Hamburg social authorities decided to take drastic measures to counter the growing number of Roma and began to block access to the emergency winter programme for beggars from Romania, death from frostbite has been a constant threat. With the argument that they were not homeless at all, they were transported on buses to bring them back to Romania. Not everyone left. And most of them came back.

Andrei Schwartz will invite us to meet this group of Roma at eye level, to accompany them in their world on the fringes of both societies – in Romania and in Hamburg – and to get so close to them that we can discover ourselves in them.

The production was supported by the BKM and the Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein. Andrei Schwartz also received support for his research work from the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Literary Colloquium Berlin as part of the “Grenzgänger” program.

On 11 July 2019 our co-production “Electric Girl” will start in cinemas all over Germany! Directed by Ziska Riemann after a book by Angela Christlieb, Dagmar Gabler, Ziska Riemann & Luci van Org. Poetry Slammerin Mia gets the chance to impersonate the anime superhero Kimiko as dubbing voice artist. She discovers more and more parallels between herself and this courageous young woman. Mia also suddenly has extraordinary powers and can accomplish superhuman actions: just like Kimiko, she sees electricity, can jump off roofs and save human lives. She decides to use these awakening powers to fight against evil in real life. As in anime, enemy forces plan to destroy all humanity. In her melancholic neighbour Kristof Mia finds a soul mate, and her co-hero. However, one thing becomes more and more clear – something is wrong with Mia. While in a manic rush no victim is too big for her to save the world, her own life gets completely out of balance: reality and delusion seem to merge dangerously.

In starring alongside Victoria Schulz are Hans Jochen Wagner, Svenja Jung, Björn von der Wellen, Oonavon Maydell and many others.

We are very happy to announce that our “Tatort: Querschläger” will be shown at the International Filmfest Emden/Norderney! “Tatort: Querschläger” is the sixth episode in which Wotan Wilke Möhring and Franziska Weisz investigate together. A breathtaking thriller drama in a truck driver’s milieu about law and justice, vigilante justice and the question of how far one can go for one’s family…

Perhaps it never existed like this, “The Golden Era” of the Hamburg district between Reeperbahn and Hafenstraße. In the NDR “Tatort” of the same name, inspectors Thorsten Falke (Wotan Wilke Möhring) and Julia Grosz (Franziska Weisz) are investigating a contract murder in the red light district on the sinful mile. Mia Spengler (“Back for Good”, “Leg dich icht mit Klara an”) will direct the new episode of the crime series until 28 May in Hamburg-St. Pauli.

The book was written by Georg Lippert, in which a contract murder in the red light district shatters the Hamburg neighborhood. During the investigation, Thorsten Falke meets an old friend and neighbourhood veteran, Michael Lübke (Michael Thomas), and is faced with his own St. Pauli past as a young bouncer. In view of prostitution and modern human trafficking, his colleague Julia Grosz appears to be inappropriate for any nostalgic neighbourhood bond. Together they hunt down the killer and his backers before the smouldering war escalates in the red light district. Falke’s old friend and mentor Lübke turns out more and more to be a tricky antagonist …

Alongside Wotan Wilke Möhring and Franziska Weisz, Christian Redl, Michael Thomas, Bogdan Iancu, Roland Bonjour, Emma Drogunova, Levin Liam and Jonathan Kwesi Aikins are also in front of the camera.
