The tragicomic story of the 20-year old German Turk Hayat (Karoline Herfurth), a passionate and ambitious football player who suddenly finds herself off sides through a sudden confrontation with death: she has cancer and loses a breast. After her release from the hospital, she slowly tries to find her way back into life. Her apprenticeship exam as a goldsmith is nearing and she wants to catch up on her football training. Hayat’s worried father Baba – Can (Thierry van Werveke), whom she has been living with since her mother’s early death, has cancelled her membership with her old team. But he hasn’t considered his daughter’s stubbornness because Hayat is convinced her way back to life can only lead over a football pitch.
