35-year old journalist Hatice covers the Hamburg cultural scene. Just when she is about to introduce the long-awaited son-in-law to her family the two have break up. Her two sisters Abla and Fatma, but especially her mother Emine and father Ismail are shocked. To make his stubborn daughter see reason father Ismail announces that Hatice’s younger sister Fatma can only get married once Hatice is wed. There’s just one little problem: Fatma is pregnant, and its only a couple of weeks before her belly is visible. If Fatma has to wait for Hatice, she’s done for. So Abla and Fatma try to find a Turkish man for their sister. But that is out of the question for Hatice: she wants a German, a spicy kraut…
