In a Hamburg suburb plagued by a string of burglaries, a young burglar is shot after being caught breaking and entering. It appears the homeowner acted in self defense – but Falke and Grosz find clues that the man had an accomplice, a young woman who fled into the adjacent forest. She is the only witness to the crime. Falke and Grosz are forced into a race against time with angry residents and the people trying to cover up the true motives…
