Christmas eve in Zurich. Deepest winter and a snow-covered metropolis. Men and women living in well-off circumstances. For instance, the divorcee Rolf – he makes every effort to get back in touch with his estranged daughter. And the pregnant Lena, who is living a seemingly happy life with her husband and small son. While the social worker Judith is facing a tough workday, as always, the widowed Spanish woman Maria finally dares to invite her acquaintance to a romantic dinner. In the course of this one day they will all meet the Bulgarian Mia working in Zurich’s red light district. These encounters with the young woman will reveal the cracks in all their lives – and slowly but surely lies, desires, pain, and the yearning for closeness and true bonds surface…
