The withdrawn inmate Mosk is assigned against his will to a re-socialisation programme in which prison inmates train seeing-eye dogs. While the other participants participate readily, Mosk refuses to play along. Only after a while does his armour begin to crack, and he develops an emotional bond with his puppy. His fellow inmates begin to respect him and even his icy relationship to the initially hated warden starts to thaw – but the day at which he will be forced to finally give up his dog to its blind owner draws closer…
